Our Mission is to make it so simple for anyone to learn the world's rhythm & music and how to effectively play with others that you will be spontaneously making all types of exciting music after only one session! By coming together in common musical celebration, we'll also build a Cross-Cultural communication and Interfaith appreciation within our community.
This fits within the Instructor's personal mission: "To be a vessel and instrument, overflowing with abundant blessings through inspiring love and liberating truth that enables people to build passionate, purpose-filled lives."
Our name Krakatoa was inspired by the Portuguese name for the volcano & island group of Indonesia that erupted so violently in 1883 that it generated the loudest sound recorded in history. The 100 megaton nuclear bomb-like blast was distinctly heard 3000 miles away as a loud cannon-shot, with shock waves that circled the globe 7 times within a 5 day period! Blue (sometimes green) moons, lavender suns, and fire-engine red sunsets & sunrises occurred for years afterwards! So, we like to think of ourselves as the "big, earth-shaking, explosive sound reverberating throughout Tucson, Arizona" and our bright shirts symbolize the fiery music that erupts from us. As the picture at the very top-left demonstrates, we even have a special "bow that erupts" for our Shows!

Monday night Tucson, Arizona Classes at 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm, and 8:15 pm are self-paced for ALL skill levels, attentive youth and adults. We are located near Park Central Mall around 22nd St. & Wilmot. Class fees are either $3 or FREE. Most instruments are supplied, but you are welcome to bring yours also. See Classes for more info, directions, and fees.

1. Learning Krakatoa's easy Skill-Set.
2. Learning Krakatoa's simple Instrument Role-Guidelines (or Accompaniment Role-Guidelines if you're part of the Accompanying musicians).
3. Fine-tuning these with each Style's Krakatoa "General Style-Guidelines" (and the particular "Song's Style-Guidelines").

After we feel confident about the songs we have made, we sometimes put them together into a Show for the purpose of entertaining and inspiring others. If you're a Guest Artist you are welcome to "sit in" with us. If you plan on performing in the Krakatoa Community Band at the next Show, you'll need to:
- Make at least 1 regular Band Rehearsal (more if the Krakatoa Instructor recommends).
- Use each Style's "General Accompaniment Style-Guidelines" and "Song's Accompaniment Style-Guidelines" (e.g., Key, Chord Charts, and audio clips).
- Practice along with each Song's FREE ONLINE Videos (see "Band Rehearsals" and "Private Lessons" for the particular Style selected).
- Attend the required Dress Rehearsals.
