Suggested Course Materials:

  • Your own Organizer A notebook to keep the items below together, to prevent loss or damage.
  • Your own CDs:  I'll teach you how to play the fun music you love, to build your technique, timing, coordination, and confidence.
  • Your own Drumsticks Everybody is used to the size, weight, length, and feel of their own sticks.
  • Instructional Materials You'll use these papers & books to practice to during and between lessons.
  • Checkout Resources:  Supplemental videos, magazines, and CDs checked out to you in order to inspire, motivate, and inform you.
  • Other Equipment: Ear plugs/filters/headphones, especially if you have sensitive ears.

Absences:

  • Less than 24 hours notice of cancellation is a lost lesson, EXCEPT...if you or your child woke up too sick to work/go to school, then call me first thing in the morning. Of course, if you/child are at the doctors, in the hospital, or at a family emergency, call me at 991-7711 as soon as you can. In either case, I will attempt to reschedule your lesson to an opening before the end of the month.
  • More than 24 hours notice of cancellation requires rescheduling that lesson before the end of the month.

Tardiness: Greater than 15 minutes without notification is a lost, non-refundable lesson that won't be rescheduled. If you are tardy within the limits, the lesson will end up being shorter, so allow for train & traffic delays! Call me at 991-7711 immediately for all tardiness notice.

Preparation: You are required to practice 15 min. EVERY day (shoot for 25 min. for real growth), because drumming requires creating and retaining muscle memory - you'll lose 50% of today's gain if you take tomorrow off! Anything less results in a discouraging lack of progress, guilt over broken commitments, and if repeated shows disrespect to your teacher and parents (if applicable). I can help you find ways to squeeze that practice time in, using proven time-management and prioritization methods.
